Livestream Kanikapila - December 18, 2021 - A Keawe ‘Ohana Christmas

The Livestream Kanikapila on December 18, 2021 featured live performances by the Keawe ‘Ohana. Labeled as "A Keawe ‘Ohana Christmas," artists included Gary Aiko, Pomaika‘i Keawe, Momi Bee Kahawaiola‘a, Alan Akaka, and Eric Keawe. Also appearing were Kaipo Asing and Jeremy Kama Hopkins, grandson of Aunty Momi. Prerecorded Christmas videos featuring NextGen steel guitarists were also presented.

  • Gary sings 'Beautiful Kahana'.
  • Kama was celebrating his birthday so the group saluted him with the traditional Keawe ʻOhana birthday song 'It's Your Birthday in Hawaiʻi'.
  • NextGen Tai Misailidis offers 'Menehune Santa.'
  • NextGen Justin Firmeza sang 'The Christmas Song' and accompanied himself on the steel guitar, piano, electric bass, and ʻukulele.
  • NextGen Joey Misailidis sang and played 'Christmas Luau'.
  • NextGen Ethan Goore played 'Mele Kalikimaka'.
  • NextGen alumnus Alexis Tolentino played 'Holiday Hula' and accompanied herself on the ʻululele and U-bass.
  • The group finished the program with 'Hawaiian Hula Eyes,' the traditional ʻAlika, and 'Mele Kalikamaka'.
